A diversified economy provides opportunities for long term growth. South Dakota State University has a long-standing commitment to the agriculture industry. Brookings itself has shown growth in several industry sectors and has developed a niche within the bio industry. A collaborative effort has been underway for the past several years to expand bio sciences. President Dunn is leading the charge to diversify our states economy through a research initiative. He has challenged the university and community to double research within 10-years. A major component of that growth will be within the bio industry.
The South Dakota State University Growth Partnership (the management board that oversees the day to day operations of the Research Park at SDSU) has embraced that challenge.

These are a few of the current activities underway that will diversify our economic position. On the horizon, the Growth Partnership will collaborate with SDSU and others to develop strategies for engineering, pharmacy and food sciences.
President Dunn and his team have challenged us to diversify and enhance research, the Research Park is committed to be a strong partner and appreciates the opportunity to assist in implementation of his vision.
